National Volunteers’ Week

Do your part to help shape Caistor’s future at 2-4 Market Place and pledge to donate your skills this Volunteers’ Week

Volunteers’ Week (2-8 June 2025) is a national celebration of the incredible contributions made by volunteers across the UK. This year, we’re using it as an opportunity to rally the troops and invite you to be part of something exciting in the heart of Caistor.

What is 2-4 Marketplace?

Right now, 2-4 Marketplace is a heritage project with big dreams. We’re in the process of transforming this historic collection of buildings into a vibrant, community-led hub – a place where creativity, culture, enterprise and local pride come together under one roof and be recognised nationally too!

But we can’t do it alone.

We need you!

Although 2-4 Marketplace isn’t open just yet, now is the perfect time to register your interest in volunteering. We’re looking for people who can help shape this space starting from Autumn 2025 before we open our doors, as well as those who can bring it to life once we do fling those doors open!

Whether you have a few hours to spare each month, a specialist skill you’d like to share, or simply a passion for making Caistor even better, we’d love to hear from you.

Who can volunteer?

Everyone! We’re keen to hear from:

  • Local residents of all ages
  • Older students looking to gain experience
  • Retirees with time and talent to offer
  • Local businesses that want to give back to the community
  • Anyone with a love for history, heritage, community or creativity

You don’t need any prior experience – just enthusiasm and a willingness to get stuck in. Funding is also being provided to train volunteers in certain roles.

How you can help

We’re looking for volunteers to support with a wide range of tasks, such as:

  • Painting, joinery, and general handiwork
  • Interior design
  • Supporting operations and bookkeeping
  • Experience in catering, hospitality, or customer service
  • Event support to plan and host community activities
  • Admin and behind-the-scenes support
  • Hosting workshops or sharing a skill
  • Helping to keep the space vibrant and welcoming

Whether you’re an individual, a community group with a passion for supporting other projects or a local business, consider donating some time or offering a service in kind – your support could help us take the next big step in our journey.

Ready to get down to business?

For businesses looking to support work at 2-4 Market Place, one powerful way to get involved is through Employer Supported Volunteering (ESV), where, as a business, you can offer employees paid time off to volunteer. ESV allows companies to contribute skills, time, and energy to grassroots projects while boosting staff morale, team cohesion, and community ties. Whether it’s helping run events, sharing professional expertise, or supporting community activities, corporate volunteers can play a hands-on role in bringing 2-4 Market Place to life. By embedding volunteering into company culture, businesses can not only fulfil their social responsibility goals and generate PR opportunities, but also help nurture local pride and long-term resilience in communities like Caistor.
